Opulent Living 2025 brings together ten distinguished Indonesian designers across four generations, each offering a unique aesthetic and point of view shaped by their time, experience, and artistic journey. Their collaboration creates a dynamic narrative that captures the evolution of Indonesian design, honouring the traditions that shaped the past while embracing the creativity that moves us toward the future. Complemented by the expertise of a lighting designer and a landscape designer, the exhibition presents a different perspective, demonstrating how thoughtful illumination and natural elements can transform a space and deepen the emotional experience of design.
This year’s theme, “Luxury Cruise,” celebrates Indonesia’s maritime identity and the recent rise of luxurious Phinisi-style sailing experiences. Inspired by the grand tradition of seafaring and the allure of modern ocean travel, the theme becomes a symbol of movement, discovery, and elegance. It reflects a desire to explore beyond familiar shores, both literally and creatively, by treating design as an ongoing voyage. Here, luxury is not defined merely by opulence, but by a sense of freedom and curiosity: the idea that the journey is just as meaningful as the destination.
Each designer interprets the theme through their own creative eyes. Some echo the spirit of maritime adventure through organic materials and flowing forms, while others channel the refined ambience of a cruise through precision, sophistication, and sensory indulgence. The exhibition becomes a journey through contrasting yet harmonious expressions—textures that evoke the sea, lighting that captures sunset hues, and landscapes that bring nature into interior spaces.
