What was the brief from the client?

The client envisioned a residence that seamlessly integrated the functionality of a private home with a dedicated space for hosting gatherings and activities for extended family and friends on special occasions.

How did you interpret it in your design?

Through careful planning, we developed circulation and space zones that are both simple and functional. This strategic allocation of space allows simultaneous activities without interference.

ou have designed many houses in a classic style. How do you ensure each house maintains its uniqueness while still bearing your signature style?

We firmly believe that each residence should uniquely reflect the client’s individual needs and aspirations rather than simply express the architect’s personal aesthetic. To achieve this, we engage in comprehensive consultations with our clients, delving deeply into their lifestyles, preferences, and the desired character of their future home. These discussions go beyond technical considerations of design and construction, fostering a profound understanding of their vision. This client-centred approach serves as the cornerstone of our design process, ensuring each project possesses its own distinct character and embodies a truly personalised living experience.

What key elements do you consistently incorporate into your architecture and interior design?

We understand both aesthetics and functionality are crucial for a successful design. Our approach ensures these elements are carefully considered and seamlessly integrated to create designs that are both beautiful and practical.

What challenges did you encounter in designing this particular house

The project presented a unique challenge, which is designing a living environment
that successfully accommodates the need of multiple families. The solution lay in emphasising well-defined circulation paths and distinct space zones, maintaining privacy for each family unit while facilitating seamless daily routines.

What was the owner’s initial reaction when they first saw your design

The client expressed enthusiastic appreciation for the design and actively engaged throughout the process, providing valuable input and contributing significantly to refining the final result.
