When planning his new residence, Pudjiono envisioned a home that was not only comfortable but also timeless and elegant in design. What was your brief to the architectural team?
I wanted a house that felt spacious and bright, with a strong connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. Natural elements such as wood and stone were essential to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Given the beautiful golf course view, I also emphasised the importance of maximising this scenery from different parts of the house.
Was there any specific detail that you had to have in
the design?
One of my must-have features was an open space that harmoniously blended with nature. Large windows and an open layout were crucial for bringing in natural light and fresh air. No less important was the gazebo. It’s a key element, indeed. I wanted a laid-back outdoor space where I could unwind whilst enjoying the golf course view.
How did you feel when you finally saw the completed house?
I was beyond satisfied and impressed. Erwin Hawawinata, Aji Warpani, and their team not only brought my vision to life but also exceeded my expectations. The house feels incredibly comfortable, elegant and functional. Seeing the final result, I knew I had made the right decision in trusting Hawawinata & Associates.
Which part of the house are you most satisfied with, and why?
One of my favourite spots is the gazebo. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the stunning golf course view. Whether I’m spending time alone or with family and friends, it provides a serene and comfortable outdoor retreat. The way it integrates with the surrounding landscape makes it even more special.
What do you think makes Erwin’s design so special and aligned with your vision?
Erwin has an incredible ability to design spaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. His attention to the smallest details makes a significant difference in the overall comfort of the house. His flexibility and creativity allowed him to incorporate all my requests in a way that felt natural and elegant. This house truly reflects my personality, and I am grateful to have worked with him.
How long have you been living in the house, and how has your experience been so far?
It’s been eight months now with an amazing experience. Every space
is thoughtfully designed to enhance daily life. The open and natural light as well as smooth indoor-outdoor connection make the house feel refreshing and peaceful.
